Hi, I'm Tanner.

Mission Lab started as a one-person shop with a simple idea: mission-driven organizations deserve websites built by people who actually understand their world.

More than a decade later, that's still the idea. I've built for national nonprofits, universities, and hundreds of churches — including work trusted by Duke, Northeastern, and Bayside Church (18,000 members). Along the way I contributed to the core of WordPress, BuddyPress, and Restrict Content Pro, and built the tools — ChurchPlugins and StudyChurch — that thousands of organizations rely on every week.

But I didn't come to this work as an outsider. I led worship for more than 12 years — guitar in hand, on a church stage most weekends. I know the rhythms of ministry, the realities of a volunteer team, and the difference between a site that looks nice and a site a congregation actually uses. That's the lens I build with.
