A personal-growth platform with 500+ course guides across seven categories — re-engineered around a flexible credit system and AI-generated, personalized courses.
The challenge
ActionQI had a clear vision: one place for practical personal-growth resources across health, relationships, family, career, finance, and lifestyle, run as a self-sustaining business. It needed to serve both members and one-time buyers and stay manageable as the library grew.
Three things stood in the way. With over a hundred courses, tying each one to its own WooCommerce product made checkout cumbersome. ActionQI wanted to tailor learning to each person's goals without adding constant admin work. And with such a large library, people needed a faster way to find the courses that fit them.
What we built
We focused on three areas.
A custom credit system. People buy credits in bulk and spend them on any course they choose. That replaced hundreds of WooCommerce product listings. Custom database tables track each user's credits and tie directly into course access, which keeps things simple for users and for the team running the site.
An AI-driven course builder. Using OpenAI, we helped develop a tool that turns a few answers about a person's goals into a custom course outline built on proven self-improvement frameworks. A light human review step keeps quality high, so ActionQI can personalize at scale without heavy upkeep.
Clearer navigation in LearnDash. We customized the LearnDash interface to distinguish free content, credit-required courses, and membership-only resources, and rebuilt the course archive with new widgets, filters, and category views. Messaging adapts to each user's access level, so it's always clear what's available, how to get it, and where to go next.
