Lookout Mountain Presbyterian
An outdated site was hiding content and eating staff time. We rebuilt it around the people who use it — and the team that has to run it.

The challenge
Lookout Mountain Presbyterian Church has served Chattanooga since 1892, adapting over more than a century to meet the needs of its congregation and community. Today that includes reaching people online.
But LMPC's previous site was outdated and hard to use. Sermons, events, and key resources were difficult to find. Limited tools and an old HostGator hosting plan meant routine updates took frequent, time-consuming support. The church needed a site that could grow with them and that their own staff could run. And critical records, like wedding applications and event form entries, had to come through the move intact, because day-to-day ministry depends on them.
What we built
We rebuilt the site from the ground up around the people who use it, with clean navigation, integrated search, and organized sermon and event content on ChurchPlugins and The Events Calendar, so visitors find what they need quickly.
We moved the site off HostGator to reliable, well-supported hosting, and added Gravity Forms for event management and Postmark for dependable email. A careful migration plan carried over the data the church relies on, so nothing was lost along the way.
Then we set the team up to run it themselves: hands-on training sessions, thorough documentation, and a tiered maintenance plan with flexible support, including a dedicated Slack channel for quick troubleshooting and questions.
- User-focused redesign with integrated search and organized sermon/event content.
- Move from HostGator to reliable, well-supported hosting.
- Careful data migration — wedding applications and event forms preserved.
- Gravity Forms event management + Postmark email delivery.
- Hands-on training, documentation, and a Slack support channel.
"We were stuck on creating a new website, in over our heads, until we connected with Mission Lab. Their experience building church websites gave me a lot of confidence in working with them, and communication was great. Along the way, I learned a lot from ML staff and felt empowered to add content and structure pages. It felt amazing to launch and receive positive feedback from the congregation."
